Recently, Google made it mandatory for you to verify your phone number if you want to create a new Gmail account. However, many businesses only want to communicate electronically, and for some reason, many users do not want to share their phone numbers. Don’t worry, the following ways will help you create a Gmail account without a phone number.
How to create a Gmail account without phone number verification?
Go to Gmail.com
Select “Create Account.”
Follow the required steps, remembering to omit the phone number.
One note is that you should enter your age as 15. At this age, Gmail thinks that you don’t have your own phone number, so you won’t need to verify your phone number.
Here are the specific steps to creating a Gmail account without a phone number on iOS, Android, and using a browser.
1. Create a Gmail account without a phone number verification on iOS
Open “Settings” from the main screen.
Click on “Account.”
Tap “Add account”
Click on “Create Account.”
Follow the prompts and fill in your information in the blank fields. When Gmail asks for your phone number, scroll down and tap “skip“.
In the next step, it will ask you to review your account information. You re-read all the information you entered, correct it however you want, and then choose Next.
Finally, click to accept the terms and conditions.
2. On an Android device:
To create a Gmail account without a phone number, you go to Settings and then Accounts. Some users may see Accounts & Backups pop up on the screen now.
If the option appears, click “Manage Account.”
Otherwise, scroll down and tap Add account.
Choose “Create Account.”
Enter your name, date of birth, and gender. Then click Next.
Note that you should enter the year of birth 15 years from the current time. Suppose it is currently 2022. In the year of birth, you should enter either 2007 or 2006.
You should now see the “Add a phone number” page. When you scroll to the bottom, press Skip to skip entering the phone number.
Accept Gmail’s terms and conditions. Then, press Next to complete the setup.
From now on, you won’t have to add any more information. You can use your new Gmail account and don’t need to verify any phone numbers.
3. In your browser:
Open your browser and go to Gmail.com.
Tap the Create Account option at the bottom of the screen.
Select For Yourself or For Business.
Type your account information and new email address and tap Next.
Set the year of birth to 15 years from the current time. For example, if the current time is 2022, you should set your birth year to 2006 or 2007.
Skip entering the mobile number and click Next. Then, scroll down and press “I agree“.
Note: If the screen asks for a phone number with no way around it, you don’t need to enter anything in the field. Instead, fill in a secondary email address, add your date of birth, and click the option to continue.
To avoid having to provide a phone number in the future, make sure you keep your age under 18. Also, if you want to add a security option that is another email, create another email under the age of 15 and add it to that email.
